A late December week in Oahu. One goal (of many) was to see beyond the clichés, the tourist swarms, the hula hokum. It helped that Steve and I stayed in what some call Country Oahu, way out on the far west end of the North Shore (google-Mokuleia or google-Mokuleia Beach Colony).
One reward (of many) was finding an almost infinite variety of green: breathtaking, immersive, invigorating. I want to dive deep into the greens. Next the blues.
The natural lighting conditions varied: two days of frequent and major rain, two-three days of lots of mud and lovely overcast light; two-three days of bright southerly (winter) sun with lots of blue sky, harsh light and deep shadows.
