The photography: As at Santorini, the sun was uniformly harsh with no clouds. Hooray that the last tender back to the cruise ship was right at sunset, allowing late-afternoon shooting on the island. I chose to shoot mostly in black/white and mostly used a polarizing filter on the camera lens.
Mykonos is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades group in Homer's "wine dark" Aegean Sea. In Greek mythology it was the location of the battle between Zeus and the Titans. The island is named after Mykons, the grandson of Apollo and a nymph named Rio. Tourism, led by a youthful hedonistic and celebrity-studded nightlife, has dominated the economy since the 1950s. We arrived in the morning and left just after sunset the same day, seeing nothing of the party crowd.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mykonos
