The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) in Valencia, Spain, is an architectural and cultural complex designed primarily by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava, who grew up in a Valencia suburb. It consists of a group of monumental civic buildings completed between 1996 and 2005. Although it has a deserved architectural reputation for its soaring lines and large-scale details, it has also been plagued with cost overruns, financial mismanagement and construction and maintenance challenges. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Arts_and_Sciences
The complex presents a fantastic project for architectural photography. I had less than two hours on a bright, sunny day to compile this overview. Were I had more, and with different types of light! The complex is also apparently dramatically lit at dusk and in the evenings. All the more reason to return. I shot with a 16-70mm zoom or an 8mm fisheye lens, everything handheld.
